unicorns in unitards.

not really. just being silly. although, it would be pretty awesome if we did have a photo of unicorns in unitards. we do have these photos instead, taken a few weeks ago.

we are giddy from all the sunshine we got today. we went for a nice walk along the lake this afternoon. yay.

also, it's super cool that Mette from ungtblod left a comment on our little blog. double yay. her blog is amazingly beautiful.

it is what it is.

"So often I wake up and the fog, the blizzards, living here is like being on a barge, adrift in the Atlantic. There is no buffer to weather. We're forced to take the brunt of it. I love it." --Gabriel English, This All Happened.

am not sure if i would love the feeling of being on a barge and not having a buffer to the weather like the protagonist of Michael Winter's book, This All Happened, but it certainly feels a lot like that living here in Newfoundland. the weather can indeed be relentless and we are certainly forced to take the brunt of it. but i think this feeling of naked exposure to the weather is partly what makes people of Newfoundland resilient and have a wicked and wry sense of humour - which i love.

we've had nothing but rain, drizzle, fog and cloudy weather for the last week or so. i must say i do miss the sunshine and the blueness of the sky. i can't remember the last time i've seen either. it's all so foggy now.

one door, three images.

i took these sometime last week. the door itself is not super interesting, but i love how the house across the street is reflected through the glass and the lace on the door.

well, hello. it's been a few days since we posted last. my time has been eaten away by work it seems. it will likely be the same in the next few days. but today, i was off and got to indulge in a little bit of sleeping in and then going for a walk and eating a late lunch at the sprout. i had pad thai and it was tasty. i enjoyed my lunch but m thought his was just so-so.

m took loads of photos on our walk today. maybe he'll post some in the next bit!

p.s. Edward the Hamster.
