for bagels, croissants and sometimes bread, Georgetown Bakery is, hands down, our go-to place. on top of the usual staple, they bake certain things on a particular day. Wednesday is the day they make brioche. today being Wednesday, plus i was out and about anyway, i stopped by to try to get one. unfortunately, it wasn't ready yet at 9:30 this morning. but they had plenty of fresh bagels, so i bought us our usual half dozen of sesame and plain bagels. they were still warm when i got home! okay, you can practically throw a stone from the bakery to our place, but still.
the guy working at the bakery was kind enough to let me take a couple of pictures inside.
too bad this is a little out of focus.
one of the bagels just minutes after i got home.
breakfast time.
it's really cool as well that Georgetown Bakery is now encouraging its customers to bring in their own bags/containers when buying. as an extra little incentive, customers get 5 cents off their purchase when they provide their own bag. i know, it's not a huge amount of cash, but it's really more the idea of being environmentally responsible.
speaking of environment, today was garbage day in our neighbourhood. rows of garbage were waiting to get picked up. there was quite a lot of it, too.
